Galia Volanski

‚ÄčWelcome to Mrs. Volanski's Class!!
Hello! My name is Galia Volanski, and I will be your child's teacher this year.  Just to let you know a little bit about myself, I have been a lifelong Redbird.  I was born and raised in West Frankfort, and I graduated from FCHS in 1994.  I later graduated from SIU with a degree in education in 2003.  After subbing for 4 years, I was fortunate to be hired full time by the district and placed in 6th grade.  This will be my 11th year teaching 6th grade, and I am really excited and looking forward to working with all of my students and their parents.  I will use this webpage to keep you informed of daily assignments.  However, if you ever have any questions or concerns about your student or their progress, feel free to email me at , or call me at 937-1412.  Let's all work together to make this a very successful school year!

This week in Reading, we will begin our study of the novel,  "Holes"This is a realistic fiction story about a young boy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and as a result, his life is changed forever.  This story conveys the idea of survival, never giving up, and the importance of friendship.  We will begin our work with summarizing and learning about different literary elements throughout our study of the novel.
